AVSmoot has been involved in various phases of modernization/renovation projects for the US Department of Agriculture.
The scope of work entailed the repair, refinishing, and reinstallation of existing and salvaged wood doors, frames, hardware, stairwell railings and transoms. Repairs and refinishing included replacing existing door louver panels with salvaged solid wood panels, dutchman repairs with special attention to grain matching, removal of lead based paint, clear coating, and replacement of hardware including new
closers, locks, and hinges; Wood window restoration included replacing wood stools (aprons),
window sills and window sash and trim using salvaged wood. Restroom restorations included repair and refinishing of existing wood toilet stall doors. Finishing scope included spray on crafton multi-tone paint, painting of windows, walls, and installation of fabric and vinyl wallcovering.
AVSmoot was nominated for the WBC Craftmanship Award for this work.
